Tetraxial suspension test bench Road Simulator
The Tetraxial Road Simulator provides four input per wheel suspension testing with the intent to reproduce road time histories. The vertical input is usually a position control ( load control only for calibration purposes) while all the other are force control. The simulator can be single wheel ( one corner ) and one axle ( two corners). All the loads and displacement are transferred to the spindle by means of special adapters called “dummy rim”. The philosophy that Servo2000 has used is to keep the rolling radius adjustments. This assures that the input load, measured at the tire patch point, are producing in the suspensions the same effect as on the road. The dummy rim can also be modified to accept measuring wheel devices which measure the loads at the wheel centre. In this case the rolling radius will be kept constant.
